SERMON by UPA GOUKHANCHIN

He was born in Kangkap and grows up in Phaisan. He has 3 sons and 1 daughter. That was a brief introduction from his side and he starts his sermon right away by reading Galatia 6:9.

Topic of the sermon: Daniel and his friends, their bravery.

The book of Daniel is especially to look upon by the youth, even though it is good for all of us. Let us look on Daniels life with five points.

1.Daniel is a man of purpose: He live a purposeful life. We can see this from Daniel 1:8 “But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine and he asked the chief officials for permissions not to defile him this way” So from this verse we can see that Daniel and his friends are determined not to spoil themselves and even asked the permission to the chief. This is a good example to look upon and followed.

2.Daniel is a man of prayer: Prayer is about asking and when they are granted it means the prayer is answered. Daniel 6:10 “….Three times a day he got down on his knee and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.” Amid our busy schedules in this city, we should not forget to pray. We should have praying as our habit and ofcourse with enthusiasm.

3.Daniel is a man of faith: When praying, we need to have faith that what we asked shall be granted. Hebru 11:1 “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see”. We should have a firm faith and believe that what we asked shall be given. Daniel has this kind of faith .

4.Daniel is a man of excellence: Daniel’s fault could not be seen by his 120 co-workers. They finally made a situation to make him faulty. A rule was made where everyone has to bow down infront of the idol, whoever fails to do that will be thrown to the lions pit. How scary the situation may be Daniel did not want to betray his God so, he did not bow before the idol. He was thrown to the hungry lions, but God help him. So like Daniel, if we favour God and hold onto righteousness and excellence, God is always there for us.

5. Daniel is a man of testimony: Daniel lived a life that can influence others that his God is the living God. Even king Daria said that he should worship Daniels God . We christians should build each other up through righteousness, faith and spirit. We should be a living testimony to others wherever we are and be the light of the world in witnessing Christ.

The service is closed by Upa TC Song with benediction.
