Worship Service Write-up

14th February, 2016

Worship service was opened by Pastor H Biakson with prayer and followed by praise and worship led by the worship team. Upa Thianzakham and Upa Khamkhanpau made an offeratory prayer for the first and second session respectively after the praise and worship is over. Benediction was done by Upa Chinsum and Upa Kamsuanthang for 11am and 3pm worship service respectively.

Pastor N Tuanglang took the podium and greeted the congregation stating that we are once again blessed as we could gather in the church after a week. Sharing one incident about the boy which was killed accidentally by his father a week ago, he stated his remorse over the incident. Taking that as an example he said that it may be so difficult for our Lord to send down His only son on earth to die for us. Amid all difficulties He sends Jesus for us and we are happy and blessed to have Him.

Pastor preached on the topic PURIFICATION OF THE LORD’S TEMPLE (Johan 2:13-25). Passover dinner was around the corner when Jesus went up to Jerusalem and there he found people selling oxen, sheep, pigeons and money changers. Jesus was pained seeing His father’s house misused. Jesus drove them all out of the temple, and turned all things in a mess. He don’t want His father’s house to be used as a house of trade. The Jews were surprised to see Jesus this much angry and asked him what He wants them to learn from that. Jesus told them that He can re-built the house in three days. Hearing this, the Jews were surprised as it took 46 years to built that temple. But ironically Jesus was talking about the temple of His body. The Judas realized their conversation only after He was raised from dead. Now they believe the word spoken by Jesus. At the passover feast in Jerusalem many believed His name when they saw the miracles He had done. But Jesus do not entrust himself to them, because he knows all people, he don’t need to be told the news of people and he knows what is inside everyone.

What we can learn is that the purpose of church must be used as it should be. God should be the centre our Church. We should go and surrender to him just as we are, leaving behind all our status. Our body is God’s temple so, we should respect and take good care of it, which is pleasing to God. We are God’s and he gave us salvation, and everything we do is all because of His grace, so we must give credit to God. Once we are saved, we are due to give respect to our body which is the temple God. God forbid destroying our body, which is the temple of God. However, our God is always ready to forgive whenever we turn to Him, even when we are wrong.
