Acts 2:38 then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”.

Why is Pentecost Day so significant? It took me a while to figure the importance of this day. I read Acts chapter 2 and was amazed at the wonders that the lord brought unto the apostles making them speak in different tongues so that they preach to the unbelievers. 3000 people were baptized on this day.

The worship service began with songs and praise by the worship team. Followed by mass prayer and reciting of the Apostle’s creed by the whole congregation. Thanksgiving prayer for Sunday’s offering was led by Upa (Elder Thiankhanmaun). The Baptist Youth Fellowship(BYF) presented a special number “Showers of Blessings”, what a beautiful song it was. Every last Sunday of the month members from different EBC congregations from various walks of life who have applied for membership in Dwarka EBC congregation are introduced and ask to come forward to formalize their membership with a prayer led by the Pastor Nenglian. Some new members were added to the congregation. A beautiful message was delivered by Pastor Nenglian, how Jesus Christ came down to deliver us, born of flesh and blood. He is the Messiah , who came to save us, sinners. If we believe in him, we have the promise of eternal life.

This Sunday, I was struck with awe when I heard the inspirational testimony of Brother Pumsuanlal and family, their dedication to work for the Kingdom of God. They have decided to leave behind their secure and comfort life and job to enroll for theology in Bangalore (UTC) and after completion of their theological studies to work as missionaries. This was one of those days when I could not stop my tears from rolling down. The token gestures made by the elder’s committee and the Dorka (Women’s) Fellowship to brother Pumsuanlal and family, brought me back to the Pentecost Day when the believers sold their possessions and goods, and divided among them all as anyone need (Acts 2:45). Sharing with one another, what a noble Christian value it is .

Hearing the testimony , I am reminded again of the commitment and the zeal that our pastor and family have towards the congregation. It made me appreciate them more and more .What a revelation it was for this to happen on Pentecost Day.

The worship service concluded with a benediction by Upa (Elder Kaithang)
