Proverbs 31:28 "Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her".

The thought of going to church this Sunday brought a smile to my face, my heart was fill with joy , after all , it was “ Mother’s Day”. Words cannot describe the feelings I had whenever I look at my daughter, how wonderful is the Lord for giving me one of the greatest gift a woman can ask for that of becoming a mother. For this occasion a Jewish proverb came to my mind and it  goes like this “ God could not be everywhere so he created mothers”. Needless to say this Jewish Proverb underlines the special place that mother’s have.

The worship service started with Nu Rammawi conducting the proceeding by welcoming the congregation on the occasion of “ Mother’s Day” , it was  followed by   songs and  praise led by the “worship team” and BDF( Baptist Dorka (women)Fellowship) . Nu Chinglian, led the congregation in mass prayer. An enriching message was delivered by Nu Mankhodim. A special song number was presented by the BDF {Baptist Dorka (women) Fellowship} and by  the congregation ‘Papi’ (married men). Our little angels (Baptist Children’s Department)        presented a song on this occasion. What a delight to watch them sing their hearts out. All my emotions came bursting out and I could not stop my tears from falling when Mr.  Mangchinzam presented a song  “ Mama”  and a  duet performed by  Richard and Florence. The Baptist Youth Fellowship presented beautiful slides of the different facets of motherhood.

Nu Thangzai’s in her sharing   talked about the role of mothers and how children should be brought up in the Lord and ask for his guidance in bringing up the children.

Pastor Nenglian’s message struck a chord in my heart. He talked about how mother’s most of the time are  taken for granted, their sacrifice  not known by her own family , but they selflessly, tiredlessly continue to perform their duties not expecting anything in return, always putting the happiness of their husband’s and children as her first priority. In her lifetime her sacrifices may be overlooked but God will always find ways for their influence to manifest at some point. The example of Timothy, how his grandmother and mother brought him up in the Christian faith was very inspiring (2 Tim. 3:14-15). for sermon in Paite

For those who have lost their mothers, we  have an everlasting hope for the Lord will never abandon us. He is a Mother for us and will always protect us.

The service concluded with a benediction by Upa Thianzakham.
