With thanks giving to God for his guidance and leading us thus far, Local Pastor V. Nenglian started the worship by reading out the Bible verse taken from Psalm 92: 1-6. With words of prayer he then committed the congregation and the worship programme to God. The worship team of the church led the congregation in singing hymns of praise to God. The songs were :- Hinna ka nei, Damsung tuipi tung, Ka nunna in Toupa ngai. It was then followed by a mass prayer. The song Nang om na peuh was sung during the collection of offerings and Elder Tuanmuanthang led the congregation in offertory prayer.

Local Pastor V. Nenglian presided over the Pastoral Prayer. He gave thanks to God for leading us throughout the month of August. He also explained the importance of pastoral prayer which is usually held every first Sunday of the month. He insisted that we should always give thanks to the Lord, for he is good and also for his faithfulness. He prayed for the congregation so that the entire month of September could be used purposefully with the will of God and for his own glory.

3. EBCC, Shillong Mission Conference 2013-

EBCC, Shillong Mission Conference was held on the 13 and 14 of July 2013 at community hall, NEHU, Shillong. Rev. Dr. Ginneihthang was the main speaker. The theme for the conference was taken from the Bible verse Joshua 13:1, “Still very large areas of land to be taken over.” The sermon was mainly based on how Israelites were directed by God to inherit the land of Canaan. The land of Canaan was promised by God to the Isrealites as their own possession. The Isrealites took the challenges and even fought for over 40 years. Likewise, the Northeast Christian also have the challenges to take over India and China as well as the Southeast Asian Countries. It is a mission field that God has given as a responsibility to us. India look east policy is a very advantageous one in order to build a relationship with the eastern countries.

During the mission conference at Shillong, the EBCC Central Choir were invited and their presence made the conference very lively. Reports were given by the Karbi Anglong Mission Field, from Ms. Chiinpi who is a FMPB Missionary and also from the Tangsa Baptist Association Arunachal Pradesh, Northeast Interior Mission Meghalaya; and from all the Local departments of the mission a report was given by the churches of EBC Guwahati, Itanagar and Shillong.

Elder Khamgoupau concluded his reports by sharing a few words of the basic principles of being a believer based on 1 Corinthians 13:13 where faith, hope and love were the basic principles of being a Christian. Of all the three basic principles love is the most important one.

The worship service was concluded with the singing of the hymn Biaklai hun nuam and a closing prayer by Elder Khamkhanpau.

# With the hope of God’s Blessings and Guidance, our next Sunday worship service will be held again at the usual time (11 am) and at the same place.
