Sunday School Final Exams

Time: 11 AM

The pastor welcomes the congregation to the days worship with readings from Psalms 5:1-8 and wishes that the verses be everyone’s song of prayer and dedication. The pastor then offers a prayer thanking the lord for bringing us all to the last Sunday of November 2013, for seeing us through numerous difficulties and by His grace giving us this day to look for God’s righteous way, and we are grateful for His kindness.

The worship team then leads the congregation in singing songs of praise, dedication and prayer. Some of the songs that were sung are:

  • Ka aw bildoh in Toupa aw
  • Puan ngou silh
  • Ka Toupa Jesu hondampa lamdang hi

Offerings were collected and Upa Khamkhanpau Guite dedicated the collections under various heads and different purposes and through various means including online bank transfers.

Upa H. Kamsuanthang the secretary of the church committee then briefs the congregation on the guidelines on the church’s partnership with Moonlight Ministries by reading out the terms of the understanding between the two, set to be effective from 1st January 2014. This is followed by signing of the memorandum by Upa G. Damsomthang Chairman for EBCC Delhi and Evan. Paul Pauzakham for Moonlight ministries. The pastor then led the congregation in prayers, seeking the Lord’s blessings and that the new understanding becomes a positive step for a more effective mission work.

Then it is announced that the catering team for the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s celebrations are enthusiastically ready to prepare a sumptuous meal and that donations are welcome. The other details of the celebrations are to be announced later.

Results for the Elections to the church committee (11 members) and Baptist Youth fellowship (9 Males and 6 Females) held previously were declared.

The secretary then initiated the proceedings for induction of the new members to the church (held every last Sunday of the month), who have come to Delhi for various reasons like education, work etc. This is followed by prayers from the Pastor.

The Elders then distributed ballot papers, for elections to the local church’s Missions committee and the Dorcas (women’s) committee. These committees comprises of 15 elected members each.

V. Hangpu a prolific gospel writer and singer from Lamka had a brief sharing. He says that he is just the writer and that the songs are God’s gift and that he is thankful and amazed that God chose him for this role. He shared that he had written about 250 songs till date. He sang a song titled “Mel munuam ing ka hondampa, Vanmang vontawi mimbang hong piang” loosely translated as ‘I’d love to meet my savior, the beloved son of God is born’ in tune with the season and dedicated it to the glory of God.

It is further announced that November 30, 2013 (Saturday) is declared as Day of prayers by the EBC and that the Delhi EBC Church will be observing it from 10 AM till 1 PM. Also on the same day a nationwide prayer is being held under the banner United Christian Prayer for India at the Ram Lila Ground, New Delhi from 3PM till 8PM. Members of the church are expected and encouraged to attend in large numbers.

The Pastor then held a brief revision of the book of Mark, the Sunday school lesson of the year followed by the closing prayers by Upa Dr. Langkham. Members of the congregation took the final exam and submitted the paper which was followed by tea fellowship.
