Sunday Worship Service

The Sunday worship service was presided over by L/Upa Robert Suanlian. After welcoming the gatherings with warm greetings, he invited the Praise & Worship Team to lead the congregation in singing hymns of praise. Moments before the Praise and worship Team led the  congregation, the recently purchased brand new ‘Musical Keyboard’ was dedicated to the Almighty by Upa Damsawmthang, Local Chairman.

 

Lungdam lua ung, Toupa”, “Jesu, Jesu na kiang a ka om ut” and “Ka Chitna Jesu”, were sung as the Worship team led the congregation in a very enthralling tune. This was followed by Mass prayer - giving thanks to Our Lord Almighty. Thereafter, offerings were collected while “Pathian Chitna lamdang penpen la in sa…”. The offertory prayer was then conducted by Upa Khamkhanpau.

 

The Conductor occupied the dais, and requested amongst the congregation, first timers to raise up from their seat and accorded them warm welcome. He, then requested Upa Thiankhanmuan, the Local Asst. Secretary to proceed with the rituals of inducting new church members. Upa Thiankhanmuan read out the names of 23 new members and asked them to come up on stage. On behalf of the Church, Upa Damsawmthang, the Local Chairman, welcome the new members and pray for them.

 

After singing “Machiang suan hang chiautui luang bang” led by the worship team, speaker of the day, Upa Damsawmthang occupied the pulpit to deliver sermon of the day.

 

Excerpted from Ephesians chapter 5 and 6, Upa Damsawmthang selected “Relationship” as his topic. He categorized the topic into 2 sub-topic viz Christian  relationship and Family relationship. Emphasized on Triangular Relationship in which “Jesus” is at the apex and “you” and “others” are on the base, he elaborated on the necessity of triangular relationship. Depicted, using Power-point on a projector, the speaker explained how two right angles made a triangle.

 

He further cautioned the gatherings the peril to build a relationship without Jesus Christ. As such, he invited the congregation to give space to Christ in our relationship with others which includes relationship of husband-wife, father-son, mother-son, brothers-sisters etc. Stressing on relationship based on Truthfulness, the Speaker also begged the congregation to retrospect in our relationship with others in our daily life. And, to conclude his sermon, Upa Damsawmthang invited one and all to cultivate deep relationship with Christ.

 

The worship team then led the congregation in singing the hymn “Sa in Jesu Itna Lamdang” and Upa K. Nengkhan closed the worship service with a word of prayer.
